Summary: This dissertation investigates the impacts of technological development on the preservation, organization, and representation of memory and information, focusing on the processes of inventory, digitization, and cataloging of information sources made
available by the Midiateca Capixaba platform. The general objective is to evaluate the organization, management, and use of information sources in the Midiateca Capixaba to identify improvements and propose recommendations that enhance the quality of services and the user experience. The research aims to identify and present, in light of the literature, an overview of how information sources are produced and treated by content providers associated with these platforms in the context of digital culture, with an emphasis on reuse. In addition, it seeks to map strategic inputs, such as perceptions, guidelines, requirements, and indicators, which are essential for the adequate provision of these sources, and systematize the results to develop
recommendations that support this process. The research, of a qualitative and quantitative nature, exploratory and descriptive, covered the analysis of information sources in cultural data platforms, focusing on the Capixaba Media Library, and
included a Systematic Literature Review, mapping of recommendations, case studies and the application of a semi-structured questionnaire. These activities culminated in the systematization and elaboration of recommendations to improve the availability of cultural information. The results indicate the need for standardization of metadata, inclusion of advanced technologies and constant updating to improve the quality and efficiency of the information made available. It is concluded that the evaluation of
information sources in cultural data aggregation platforms, such as the Capixaba Media Library Project, is crucial to guarantee the quality and effectiveness of these platforms. This evaluation should verify the accuracy, relevance and adequacy of the
data, in addition to ensuring the use of standardized metadata to facilitate the organization, retrieval and interoperability of the information. It is also essential to apply good cataloging practices and ensure accessibility and compliance with usage rights,
thus optimizing the user experience and the efficiency of the platform.
